Soon to be high and dry from Bashewa writes:
It is with great concern that I am writing this letter. KQ Dairy at plot 40 in Bashewa has recently excavated a new and extremely large dam. Myself and other members of the community have been postulating as to what the source of water would be to fill the dam. The first week of December we discovered that the dam was starting to be filled.

According to my personal measurements, less than 1 km away from the dairy, we only had 112 mm of rain at that stage of the season with only 12 mm falling since 19 November up to the first week in December.

From the above, I can only surmise that this water is being pumped directly from the water table. I would appreciate it if the owner of this dairy could respond to this letter, as all neighbouring residents risk having dry boreholes in this already dry season. I would also appreciate it if other readers with knowledge of the legality of this matter could respond.
