The Bronberg Meander is an initiative
of The Bronberger in conjunction
with the Gauteng Tourism
Authority and the route’s tourist
info centre will be at Watercrest
Garden Estate in Lynnwood Road
extension.
In a couple of months’ time you
will be able to follow the brown
meander road signs along the following
routes: Delmas Road, including
the Rietvlei Dam Nature
Reserve, Garstfontein Road extension
(M30), Lynnwood Road
extension (M6), the old Bronkhorstspruit
Road (R104), the Bronkhorstspruit-
Bapsfontein Road (R25) and
the Cullinan/Kemptonpark Road
(R515).

This is roughly the area that the Bronberg Meander will cover
Things to do
The meander will offer visitors a
range of activities – from paintball
games, mountain bike, 4x4 and
quad tracks, hiking trails, game
drives, bird watching and picnic
and fishing spots to horse riding
and even rides on a donkey cart.
Visitors will be able to learn how
to fly at our own Kitty Hawk
Aerodrome, they can indulge their
senses at a relaxing spa, join a
drumming circle or send the adrenalin
pumping with a variety of
extreme sports.
They can spend a day on a rose
farm or in one of our area’s variety
of nurseries and tea gardens.
Activities for children will also
enjoy exposure with special mention
of where city children can
inter-act with farm animals.
And of course all these visitors will
get thirsty and hungry and they will
want to know exactly where they
can find a tea garden, pub & grill
or restaurant in our area.
Heritage
Bronberg residents are proud of
their area’s heritage and we can’t
wait to show visitors all the historical
sites. To get more information
about bygone days, one can visit
the Sammy Marks Museum and
the Willem Prinsloo Agricultural
Museum, both on the old Bronkhorstspruit Road.
Significant Anglo-Boer War battles
were fought in Donkerhoek and
Witpoort and the troops’ approach
towards these battle sites can
learly be traced on the Bronberg
ridge where the ruins of old
Ndebele dwellings were used as
entrenchments.
The Bronberg territory is also
home to a variety of artists, from
sculptors and painters to jewellers
and musicians. We would like to
invite these artists and the studios
and galleries that represent them
to become part of our Bronberg
Meander for extra opportunities to
sell their art to tourists.

If you’re wondering what to do to
become part of the Bronberg
Meander, you’re going to need
more information about the various
development stages you will
witness over the next couple of
months.
The first step was to kick off with a
Bronberg Meander website. Of
course you’ll want to be listed on
this website, and provide a link to
your own website. If you don’t
have your own website, you can
enquire about the mini web pages
on offer. We’re also going to give
local businesses the opportunity to
advertise on this website.
The meander has already been
registered and if you’re curious,
you can take a peep at the basic
skeleton of the website. The flesh
will be added to this skeleton as
new members are welcomed to
the different categories. The skeleton
is at: www.bronbergmeander.co.za.
The next step is to get the electronic
map of the Bronberg Meander
up and running and interactive
so that your business can be a
click away on this map.
Brochure
Once we have a sufficient number
of members in all activity categories
and the Gauteng Tourism
Authority has put up all the meander
road signs, we’re going to print
a map and brochure that will be
distributed along the route as well
as at tourism companies and spots
across South Africa.
This brochure will be a full-colour,
glossy A4-format publication and
we will keep you informed about
the costs of appearing in this publication.
When everything is in place, the
Bronberg Meander’s comprehensive
package will offer members
the following exposure: a website
listing, visibility on an interactive
meander map, a mini web page if
you require it, your presence in a
printed brochure and map, meander
road signs from the provincial
authority, international exposure
and visibility in a local media campaign.
Kiosk
The Bronberg Meander’s tourism
info kiosk will soon be equipped
with brochure stands by the
Gauteng Tourism Authority. It’s at
this kiosk that you can also put
your own company’s brochures on
display and get more Gauteng
Tourism publications.
