Motorists were surprised by people flipping tractor tyres along Hans Strijdom Drive (Solomon Mahlangu) on 23 July. There was no broken-down tractor on this busy road; these people flipped for charity.

World record holder, Chris Batts, and Henry Green, owner of The Personal Trainer Company, teamed up to flip some big tyres for a big cause. Henry rounded up a couple of guys and a girl to flip two tractor tyres all the way from his FitPit gym in Silver Lakes to The Grove Mall.

Many individuals and companies made donations towards the event. Phyllis Robertson Home for the disabled received R8 000, Alma School for disabled learners received toys, Heaven’s Angels pre-school and day-care for disabled learners also received toys as well as car seats.

Chris is also part of Sport against Crime, and holds the record for various tyre flipping feats.
