We are losing a big part of the veld in the Bronberg area. Every year there are more of these pompom invaders. Let us please at least control the category one invaders, which we are required to according to the law. Pompom, wild sering and bugweed are to be controlled. But please also on the adjacent road shoulders.

Pompom is an invasive plant from South America that was introduced here without its natural enemies. Small patches of the weed soon enlarge and exclude indigenous plants. Its nutrient-packed roots resist all attempts to kill it and it is frost-hardy and fire-resistant.

Visit www.arc.agric.za for information about the control of this weed.
