The Zwavelpoort-based Kungwini Welfare Organisation hosted its first CraftHER Arts and Crafts workshop on 27 July. It was started as a fundraising and awareness programme for the disabled residents of the Paul Jungnickel Home and offered the community an exciting opportunity to get involved and to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities.

Women from all over Pretoria attended the various workshops, such as the making of arts and crafts tekkies, mixed media art, diamond dots, crocheting and mosaic. Each workshop was made up of two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

The women enjoyed coffee, cake and light lunches served by Paul Jungnickel Home residents, who were specially trained as waiters and waitresses for the day.

The event was a great success and the next one is planned for 5 October. The organisation is at plot 214, Lynnwood Road extension, Zwavelpoort. Phone them at 012-940-0221 or 087-096-0134.
